Patti sounds less severe.
Which name do you like better between Patricia or Patti for professionalism?
Patricia
Which name do you like better between Patricia or Patti for professionalism?
If you are planning to go for serious roles, I would go for Patricia to give yourself that extra something. Patti I think is more for a comedic type actress. Then in time you can go from Patti to Patricia the same way Larry Fisburne went to Laurence Fishburne.
Reply:well i think it depends on your last name. I personally like Patti better, but if it doesn%26#039;t flow as well as Patricia with your last name then I would go with Patricia.
hope this helped!
Reply:For me the names have such a strong association with Patti Lupone and Patricia Neal that I would wonder which actress you would like to be more closely association with?
The name has dropped in popularity so much in the last 40 years, that I you can%26#039;t call yourself Patti without being associated with Patti Lupone, or Peppermint Patti .

Okay! One second I just want you to know I am answering and have an answer!
You should sing %26quot;In my own little corner%26quot; from Cinderella or %26quot;I enjoy being a girl%26quot;
For the monologue....
Why, how impolite of him. I asked him a civil question, and he pretended not to hear me. That%26#039;s not at all nice. [Calling after him] I say, Mr. White Rabbit, where are you going? Hmmm. He won%26#039;t answer me. And I do so want to know what he is late for. I wonder if I might follow him. Why not? There%26#039;s no rule that I mayn%26#039;t go where I please. I--I will follow him. Wait for me, Mr. White Rabbit. I%26#039;m coming, too! [Falling] How curious. I never realized that rabbit holes were so dark . . . and so long . . . and so empty. I believe I have been falling for five minutes, and I still can%26#039;t see the bottom! Hmph! After such a fall as this, I shall think nothing of tumbling downstairs. How brave they%26#039;ll all think me at home. Why, I wouldn%26#039;t say anything about it even if I fell off the top of the house! I wonder how many miles I%26#039;ve fallen by this time. I must be getting somewhere near the center of the earth. I wonder if I shall fall right through the earth! How funny that would be. Oh, I think I see the bottom. Yes, I%26#039;m sure I see the bottom. I shall hit the bottom, hit it very hard, and oh, how it will hurt!

Reply:I have done some research on places on the internet where you can find monologues of all types, including teen monologues, monologues for girls, women, men, comical monologues, short comedic monologues, etc. I also answer a lot of questions about how to effectively memorize a monologue as well as about common mistakes that actors often make while performing a monologue for an audition. On this page on my site for new and aspiring actors, you will find all that information including links to the types of monologues you are looking for. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/comic...

What are some similarites or differences Olivia and Viola share from Twelfth Night?
I already have
1. Both seem to fall in love with the wrong men
2.Viola is positive, Olivia is negative
What are some similarites or differences Olivia and Viola share from Twelfth Night?
A really good resource for questions like this is the Open Shakespeare site that lets you pull out all the lines of a single character (with or without their cue lines).
It make it much easier to compare lines and reactions to a given situation.
In particular the scene where they first meet highlights their differences. Viola is by far the more eloquent and very dashing (Olivia thinks she is a man). Olivia is deeply attracted to him (her) almost immediately.
===================================
[Enter VIOLA, and Attendants]
* Viola. The honourable lady of the house, which is she?
* Olivia. Speak to me; I shall answer for her.
Your will?
* Viola. Most radiant, exquisite and unmatchable beauty,鈥擨
pray you, tell me if this be the lady of the house, 465
for I never saw her: I would be loath to cast away
my speech, for besides that it is excellently well
penned, I have taken great pains to con it. Good
beauties, let me sustain no scorn; I am very
comptible, even to the least sinister usage. 470
* Olivia. Whence came you, sir?
* Viola. I can say little more than I have studied, and that
question%26#039;s out of my part. Good gentle one, give me
modest assurance if you be the lady of the house,
that I may proceed in my speech. 475
* Olivia. Are you a comedian?
* Viola. No, my profound heart: and yet, by the very fangs
of malice I swear, I am not that I play. Are you
the lady of the house?
* Olivia. If I do not usurp myself, I am. 480
* Viola. Most certain, if you are she, you do usurp
yourself; for what is yours to bestow is not yours
to reserve. But this is from my commission: I will
on with my speech in your praise, and then show you
the heart of my message. 485
* Olivia. Come to what is important in%26#039;t: I forgive you the praise.
* Viola. Alas, I took great pains to study it, and %26#039;tis poetical.
* Olivia. It is the more like to be feigned: I pray you,
keep it in. I heard you were saucy at my gates,
and allowed your approach rather to wonder at you 490
than to hear you. If you be not mad, be gone; if
you have reason, be brief: %26#039;tis not that time of
moon with me to make one in so skipping a dialogue.
* Maria. Will you hoist sail, sir? here lies your way.
* Viola. No, good swabber; I am to hull here a little 495
longer. Some mollification for your giant, sweet
lady. Tell me your mind: I am a messenger.
* Olivia. Sure, you have some hideous matter to deliver, when
the courtesy of it is so fearful. Speak your office.
* Viola. It alone concerns your ear. I bring no overture of 500
war, no taxation of homage: I hold the olive in my
hand; my words are as fun of peace as matter.
* Olivia. Yet you began rudely. What are you? what would you?
* Viola. The rudeness that hath appeared in me have I
learned from my entertainment. What I am, and what I 505
would, are as secret as maidenhead; to your ears,
divinity, to any other%26#039;s, profanation.
* Olivia. Give us the place alone: we will hear this divinity.
[Exeunt MARIA and Attendants]
Now, sir, what is your text? 510
* Viola. Most sweet lady,鈥?
* Olivia. A comfortable doctrine, and much may be said of it.
Where lies your text?
* Viola. In Orsino%26#039;s bosom.
* Olivia. In his bosom! In what chapter of his bosom? 515
* Viola. To answer by the method, in the first of his heart.
* Olivia. O, I have read it: it is heresy. Have you no more to say?
* Viola. Good madam, let me see your face.
* Olivia. Have you any commission from your lord to negotiate
with my face? You are now out of your text: but 520
we will draw the curtain and show you the picture.
Look you, sir, such a one I was this present: is%26#039;t
not well done?
[Unveiling]
* Viola. Excellently done, if God did all. 525
* Olivia. %26#039;Tis in grain, sir; %26#039;twill endure wind and weather.
* Viola. %26#039;Tis beauty truly blent, whose red and white
Nature%26#039;s own sweet and cunning hand laid on:
Lady, you are the cruell%26#039;st she alive,
If you will lead these graces to the grave 530
And leave the world no copy.
* Olivia. O, sir, I will not be so hard-hearted; I will give
out divers schedules of my beauty: it shall be
inventoried, and every particle and utensil
labelled to my will: as, item, two lips, 535
indifferent red; item, two grey eyes, with lids to
them; item, one neck, one chin, and so forth. Were
you sent hither to praise me?
* Viola. I see you what you are, you are too proud;
But, if you were the devil, you are fair. 540
My lord and master loves you: O, such love
Could be but recompensed, though you were crown%26#039;d
The nonpareil of beauty!
* Olivia. How does he love me?
* Viola. With adorations, fertile tears, 545
With groans that thunder love, with sighs of fire.
* Olivia. Your lord does know my mind; I cannot love him:
Yet I suppose him virtuous, know him noble,
Of great estate, of fresh and stainless youth;
In voices well divulged, free, learn%26#039;d and valiant; 550
And in dimension and the shape of nature
A gracious person: but yet I cannot love him;
He might have took his answer long ago.
* Viola. If I did love you in my master%26#039;s flame,
With such a suffering, such a deadly life, 555
In your denial I would find no sense;
I would not understand it.
* Olivia. Why, what would you?
* Viola. Make me a willow cabin at your gate,
And call upon my soul within the house; 560
Write loyal cantons of contemned love
And sing them loud even in the dead of night;
Halloo your name to the reverberate hills
And make the babbling gossip of the air
Cry out %26#039;Olivia!%26#039; O, You should not rest 565
Between the elements of air and earth,
But you should pity me!
* Olivia. You might do much.
What is your parentage?
* Viola. Above my fortunes, yet my state is well: 570
I am a gentleman.
* Olivia. Get you to your lord;
I cannot love him: let him send no more;
Unless, perchance, you come to me again,
To tell me how he takes it. Fare you well: 575
I thank you for your pains: spend this for me.
* Viola. I am no fee%26#039;d post, lady; keep your purse:
My master, not myself, lacks recompense.
Love make his heart of flint that you shall love;
And let your fervor, like my master%26#039;s, be 580
Placed in contempt! Farewell, fair cruelty.
[Exit]

%26#039;Above my fortunes, yet my state is well:
I am a gentleman.%26#039; I%26#039;ll be sworn thou art; 585
Thy tongue, thy face, thy limbs, actions and spirit,
Do give thee five-fold blazon: not too fast:
soft, soft!
Unless the master were the man. How now!
Even so quickly may one catch the plague? 590
Methinks I feel this youth%26#039;s perfections
With an invisible and subtle stealth
To creep in at mine eyes. Well, let it be.

I need help finding out what play this monologue is from.?
This is a little part of it:
Gosh, kids, Santa%26#039;s running a little late today. You might even say he%26#039;s been a little under the weather. He%26#039;s had uh, uh ... stomach virus. Yeah, that%26#039;s it, a stomach virus. Ha. (Beat.) Okay, kids, gather round %26#039;cause I%26#039;ve got a big secret to tell you. (Beat.) You know, I can%26#039;t lie to you. Santa wants us to be truthful, right? Well, his tummy does hurt along with his head but it%26#039;s because of something we adults call a hangover
yeah. i got it from a website and it said that it was from a play but it didnt say which one. The character is supposed to be a mall elf?
I need help finding out what play this monologue is from.?
Email the site owner or webmaster and ask them. I suspect it%26#039;s from a play no one would publish and the guy who wrote it just posted the monologue.
If it%26#039;s for an audition that requires it be from a play, pick a legitimate work (NOT a movie that wasn%26#039;t a play first).
I need help finding out what play this monologue is from.?
i think i remember that movie..... I%26#039;ll be home for christmas? Jack frost?

What are some good songs for an audition for a 15 year old girl that's voice cant go very high?
I sang Avril Lavigne last year and her pitch level in Complicated and Sk8er Boi are good.
This is for a school play so no swears in the songs please.
What are some good songs for an audition for a 15 year old girl that%26#039;s voice cant go very high?
You could try some Wicked songs, or for something more challenging, Anything Goes. Wicked has For Good, which can be a solo although it was originally a duet. Anything Goes has, of course, Anything Goes, as well as Blow, Gabriel, Blow.
Good luck!!

HALLELUJIA!
girl at our school sang it at the talent show, and everyone was amazed i think some people even cried
Reply:Try something by Ingrid Michaelson, or Chantal Kreviazuk.
Both have fairly even voices...might even try Imogen Heap? All of their music is light-hearted, not explicit.
These are some you might like:
%26quot;These Days%26quot; - Chantal Kreviazuk
%26quot;Before You%26quot; - Chantal Kreviazuk
%26quot;Overboard%26quot; - Ingrid Michaelson
%26quot;Boys and Girls%26quot; - Ingrid Michaelson
%26quot;The Way I Am%26quot; - Ingrid Michaelson
Or if you%26#039;re feeling particularly daring, do something classic: Carly Simon, The Zombies, Doris Day...you could even do a Beatles song. (T.V. Carpio%26#039;s version of %26quot;I Want to Hold Your Hand%26quot; from Across the Universe is divine.)
A great choice would be %26quot;New Soul%26quot; by Yael Na茂m.
Good Luck!
Reply:Well it depends on the role you are auditioning for.
some songs avalible:
1. Beauty and the Beast - Beauty and the Beast
2. I Got the Sun in the Morning - Annie Get Your Gun
3. There are Worst Things I Could Do - Grease
4. On My Own - Les Miserables
5. My Favorite Things - The Sound of Music
6. Missing You (My Bill) - The Civil War: The American Musical
7. Home - Beauty and the Beast
8. Once Upon a Time - Jekyll and Hyde the Musical
9. etc because there are WAY more then what i mentioned
that%26#039;s just a variety of songs. a few things to keep in mind while picking out a song:
1. BE COMFORTABLE.
2. never choose a song from the musical ur auditiong for (u want to show the director that u know more music then that one show)
3. if its a play/ musical, choose songs from a play/ musical. pop songs r great but not what is typicaly found on Traditonal broadway......just modern broadway.
4. if the option of choosing a 16-32 bar measure, sing the bars that u can do the best. don%26#039;t pick the higher end of the song if u can%26#039;t sing it.
hope that helped. this is advice given to me by fellow altos/mezzo sopranos who have auditioned with those songs and from years of musical training.
GOOD LUCK! =]

Reply:If it%26#039;s for a musical, don%26#039;t sing a pop song - ie NO MILEY CYRUS. Or Kelly Clarkson. Or any other pop singer. It doesn%26#039;t show off anything except that you haven%26#039;t done your homework on what is required - sing something from a musical. Also, avoid songs from anything which is currently popular or big on Broadway - which means Wicked, Hairspray, RENT, Les Mis, Spring Awakening, Phantom of the Opera or Avenue Q, purely because everyone else will sing songs from those shows and you won%26#039;t stand out from the crowd. Stay a long way away from High School Musical also. The suggestion of Anything Goes is a good one - there are some fantastic songs in that show; you could look at %26quot;Roxie%26quot; from Chicago (the first verse will be all you need), %26quot;Don%26#039;t Tell Mama%26quot; from Cabaret, %26quot;Heaven Help My Heart%26quot; from Chess, %26quot;Adelaide%26#039;s Lament%26quot; from Guys and Dolls, or %26quot;As Long As He Needs Me%26quot; from Oliver. You need to try and pick a song that suits the show you%26#039;re auditioning for (similar style - same composer if you can manage it), shows your voice off and also is a song which you can show character through.

Is there a kiss scene in les mis?
i might possibly be cosette, and i havent seen it in years. anyone know if theres some lip locking to be had?
Is there a kiss scene in les mis?
Well if there is......it would be with Marius, your lover and new Husband near the end of the show. Since it is theatre, there are PLENTY of ways to %26quot;fake%26quot; kissing.
Is there a kiss scene in les mis?
Congratulations on working on the best musical ever. I would say probably yes, but it will almost certainly have to do with the production choices.
Reply:yes there is...good luck!
Reply:OMG!!! You have no idea how much I love Les Miz! It is so amazing that you are going to be in it!!! (I%26#039;m just a little bit jealous.....) As Cosette, you%26#039;ll probably have to kiss Marius, but depending on the actual production, they might cut it if you%26#039;re uncomfortable. If it%26#039;s a High School production, they%26#039;ll edit a lot out of the script anyway. Congratulations!!! Break a leg!

Does likeing Hairspray the musical make you gay?
Hairspray is one of my favorite musicals, and my friend says likeing/performing in it makes you gay. I think otherwise. Who%26#039;s right?
Does likeing Hairspray the musical make you gay?
No, doing or wanting to do members of the same sex makes you gay.
Does likeing Hairspray the musical make you gay?
no way, guys can like musicals and you can or can not like it.
Reply:There are two meanings of gay, gay as in you are attracted to the same sex and gay as in happily cheesy. Whatever your friend means by gay, and it certainly should not affect you. Seriously, that%26#039;s what you want and there%26#039;s nothing wrong about liking something even though at times it sways from your usual likes or from your personality. Besides, its never the society that decides whats manly or cool, its what you think about that matters. If he thinks its gay, and he doesn%26#039;t like then thats his problem because its his opinion. He has no right to tell you what you are suppose to want and what not to want, and certainly has no right to tell you if you are not cool or gay. ^^
And tell him too to stop using the word gay to denote something negative, its quite discriminating. :(
Reply:Well, if you%26#039;re afraid of going gay because of it, OK then... but if you%26#039;re secure in your straight manliness, then why should you care??
Only guys that have ever had gay thoughts would freak out over what kind of music they listen to. %26quot;Will this push me over to the other side??%26quot;
Trust me, my most amazing guy friends (totally straight) listen to musicals all the time.
Reply:No way does it make you gay. Not in any way shape or form.
P.S. Hairspray is amazing!
Reply:You like what you like. Most of the people who performed in the movie or the stage show may have actually been straight.
Reply:well then they%26quot;re very stupid and closed minded! my totally straight friend used to sing wicked and skip down the halls (and he%26#039;s pretty cute). he was even lumiere last year in beauty and the beast (and it takes alot of courage to talk in a french accent).
Reply:No,it does not make gay.the thing is ,it makes you gay by liking a member of the same sex as which you share.Your friend is abusing the word gay and is virtually saying gays are fellows of which thee he says thee to be which lord

Acting??? Help????!!!!!?
Hi! My name is Meghan and I%26#039;m 13. I%26#039;ve always wanted to be an Actress and its been my dream forever!!!!! i really need some ideas!! i%26#039;ve already got two casting calls on a website that is called
http://www.auditionsmovie.com/
and there are two things there that i can try out for..
BUT i really need some more help!!
Do you know any agencies in the Calgary/ Edmonton area???
Any movie casting websites?
Agents?
Ideas on how to start???
HELP?!?!?!?
Acting??? Help????!!!!!?
First you going to have to go to acting schools for training. Not only one but a couple. Then you should get in local plays, school plays, student films. You could search for auditions on craigslist.com or subscribe to backstage.com The you should get headshots that look like you. Professional headshots are pretty expensive they cost $200-$1000 but on craigslist you could find less expensive headshot that range from $50 to $150. As you get more and more credits on your resume, you may want to go for an agent. An agent gets you auditions and they want people who they think would nail all the auditions they give. If you get a part in an audition. The money you make out of that work you pay 10% to your agent. ONLY 10%. If they ask for money upfront they are a SCAM. Once you get an agent you would start getting a lot of auditions which means more audition. As you make money out of roles you make you may want to get professional headshots. Then in the future you may want to join Union such a SAG, AFTRA , AEA.... HOPE I HELPED

you can find an agent by typing in %26quot;talent agents in (your nearest big city, state) on google maps. A list of agents contact info should come up, which you can visit their websites and follow submission guidelines. check with SAG/AFTRA to make sure they%26#039;re legit, remember not to pay any fees. What is Friar Lawrence trying to say in his Soliliquey?
Which one?
What is Friar Lawrence trying to say in his Soliliquey?
Francis has multiple soliliquey, but in the most important one, the simple sypnosis is that Hero should pretend to be dead. His explanation is that by Hero pretending to be dead, she will make Claudio realize his mistake in accusing her of being untrue. And, he notes, if it doesn%26#039;t work for her to pretend to have died, she can instead go and lead a religious life, where her new reputation of being false would not follow her. Really, at this point, Francis is the only one besides Beatrice who is really on Hero%26#039;s side and he%26#039;s trying to help her although Leonato is convinced that the accusations fired at his daughter by Don Pedro, Claudio, and Benedick are true.
And Francis made a good suggestion! It worked~~
What is Friar Lawrence trying to say in his Soliliquey?
I don%26#039;t think there is a lot of subtly in this speech. The friar is obviously interested in herbs. He reveals the core part of his personality. He sincerely believes that drugs have the power to change good to bad, and bad to good if they are administered by a wise man. Clearly he thinks that he fits the mold of this wise person.
You see later in the play that he is more concerned about his power to change society than he is about Romeo and Juliet.
---------------------------------
I assume you realize that you only copied 16 lines of a 30 line soliloquy .
==============================
NO FEAR SHAKESPEARE VERSION (whole speech)
The smiling morning is replacing the frowning night. Darkness is stumbling out of the sun%26#039;s path like a drunk man.
------
Now, before the sun comes up and burns away the dew, I have to fill this basket of mine with poisonous weeds and medicinal flowers. The Earth is nature%26#039;s mother and also nature%26#039;s tomb. Plants are born out of the Earth, and they are buried in the Earth when they die. From the Earth%26#039;s womb, many different sorts of plants and animals come forth, and the Earth provides her children with many excellent forms of nourishment. Everything nature creates has some special property, and each one is different. Herbs, plants, and stones possess great power. There is nothing on Earth that is so evil that it does not provide the earth with some special quality. And there is nothing that does not turn bad if it%26#039;s put to the wrong use and abused.
-------
Virtue turns to vice if it%26#039;s misused. Vice sometimes becomes virtue through the right activity.

Becoming a famous actress...?
dont seak fame, and get to work.
Becoming a famous actress...?
5 Simple Steps to Becoming an Actress/Actor:
-Make a resume full of training, experience, awards, and skills that you have.
-Take acting classes, and audition for anything: plays at theatre or church, casting calls, etc.
-Get a good headshot either from a photographer or have someone take a nice pic of your face with no background clutter.
-Join/Read websites like Explore Talent, Star Search Casting, Actors Access, Now Casting, and New Faces. (You can find auditions on these sites, and don%26#039;t neccessarily have to pay)
-Submit to agents/agencies and casting directors - don%26#039;t forget to read books like Act Now and remember to research!
Hope I helped! Good luck with your career!
(Find a list of agents in your area by typing in %26quot;talent agents in (closest big city, state) on google maps. A list of agents will come up and you can check SAG/AFTRA to make sure they%26#039;re legit. Never pay upfront fees to an agent, though! Good luck, hope I helped!
Reply:I%26#039;ll start you off with the first thing you need to know. You can%26#039;t learn to be famous. You can learn to act. If you are good enough, and lucky, and take advantage of opportunities that come your way to advance in your profession, you may some day become famous. However, you should also know from the outset that if and when you become a successful actor, you may not want or need the fame you%26#039;re looking for now.
Now- to devote your life your life to acting, you need to get some solid ideas on what a career and life in acting will demand of you in time, energy, study, practice and dedication--and it%26#039;s a lot. Read about the lives and careers of other stage and movie actors, look for books about acting itself and the techniques and disciplines it involves.
If you can%26#039;t take acting classes right away, look around for school theater groups, youth theater groups or workshops in your community--or start one of your own with friends.. See as much live theater as you can in your area. If you know anyone who%26#039;s an actor, or works in and around theater, talk to them about your ambitions and see what they tell you, or advise.
When you can, begin taking acting classes, as well as classes in voice and movement, or dance, or singing--audition for school plays, or if there are parts for someone your age, for community theater productions, if and when you feel confident in your abilities (and if your parents permit). All this will take more than a few years. Very few actors are %26quot;discovered%26quot;overnight, and most of those who are have been in training and have been performing for many years before their discovery.
By the time you get to this stage of the game, and have actually been in a production or two or three, you%26#039;ll probably have a much better idea of whether you want to continue working toward your goals. Also, you will be in contact with other actors and theater folks who can give you more information on how to proceed with your career, if that%26#039;s what you decide.
I will not wish you luck (since it%26#039;s a theater tradition not to say that), but I do hope your dreams may begin to come true.

Do not try to become a %26quot;famous actress,%26quot; as you will be disappointed when it does NOT happen. Strive to become the best actress you can be. Fame is fleeting and it will disappoint everytime.

I am trying out for a musical and need to know what kind of monologue would get me the part! Please help!?
I%26#039;m sorry, but we need to know what musical and what part.
I am trying out for a musical and need to know what kind of monologue would get me the part! Please help!?
Base your monologue on the role you are seeking. Whether it is directly from the musical or a character similar to that particular role, use that as your audition piece. If it is for a comedic role, look for comedic monologues that highlight the same theme or tone of the role you seek.
If it is dramatic, do the same. %26quot;Winning Monologues%26quot; and %26quot;Monologues for Auditions%26quot; are books found in your local library. Search through those with the information in mind. Good luck and above all, have fun.
I am trying out for a musical and need to know what kind of monologue would get me the part! Please help!?
It doesn%26#039;t matter if it is a musical or not. The rules for picking a monolgue remains the same, do a monologue that is basically in the vein of the show. For example, if it%26#039;s a comedy, pick a comedic monologue. In all likelihood, they will have you sing with an accompanist anyway. This has nothing to do with your monologue. Remember, make eye contact when delivering your monologue, involve your %26quot;audience%26quot;, if your director asks you to do over a portion of your monologue in a different style, make a conscious effort to do so.

What do you look for in a Drama and/or Stagecraft self-help book?
I have taught high school and junior high school Drama for more than 20 years and have produced and directed school plays on a number of stages. I also am considering writing a self-help book for school Drama and community Drama groups. My experiences include recruiting and making Drama accessible to a wide range of students, building quality sets on a budget, use of lighting and sound equipment and a lot more. I learned basics of the craft in college but had to re-learn lots of things to make Drama work in school and in the community. I had to buy a lot of books to glean a few good new ideas and think I could write a better school and community theatre self-help book. So, what do you look for in a Drama self-help book?
What do you look for in a Drama and/or Stagecraft self-help book?
Forget it. With your teaching experience you need to write a book based on your teaching skills. Don%26#039;t copy others. Be true to yourself. You will write a best seller.

When romeo finds juliet where do both of them go after they find each other?
When they meet at Juliets party, after Romeo meets Juliet, Juliet is taken away by her parents to meet that other guy and Romeo and his friends leave the party. But on the way out, Romeo breaks back into the party and goes to Juliets room to try and talk with her. Sorry my re-count is so vague lol.
When romeo finds juliet where do both of them go after they find each other?
Romeo doesn%26#039;t go back to the party. He climbs the garden wall and lurks about trying to decide what to do. He gets a lucky break and Juliet comes out onto the balcony and begins talking to herself.
We sometimes forget that there are only four scenes where R%26amp;J speak to each other.
Act I, scene 5: Party Scene
Act II, scene 2: Balcony Scene
Act II, scene 6: Preparations secret marriage (very short)
Act III, scene 5: Consummation of marriage (final goodbye)

Is it wrong to ask about my script?
I have acted in a play with my local community theatre group which wrapped last month. I continue a great relationship with the group, and hope to be in there next show.
However I have been working on a script of my own. Is it inappropriate to approach them about doing my show someday? Would it be awkward and unethical, or am I being paranoid?
Is it wrong to ask about my script?
It would be absolutely fine to ask them to look at it. Maybe you could have a staged reading or a night of original works.
Is it wrong to ask about my script?
no dumbo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they might think the same as you
Reply:I think it%26#039;s great that you%26#039;re writing a play of your own! Of course it is acceptable to ask them to look at it, but be prepared for their probable answer of %26quot;No, we%26#039;re not going to do it.%26quot; Not in those exact words of course. But don%26#039;t let that discourage you at all. There are many factors that go into deciding what production to put on. One of those factors is whether or not the play will sell. They may be nervous about putting your play on because it has never been done before. So, go ahead and ask! If the community theatre says no, you could take it somewhere else! Keep up the great writing!
Reply:Look at Sylvester Stallone, he was auditioning for a part and they said you%26#039;re not going to get it, sorry. But he said i also write, and within 1 week he came back with the Rocky script that shot him to stardom. If you dont ask you%26#039;ll never get anywhere, just let them know that you do write and that you do have a script, sort of hint to them, spark up a conversation and then start talking about it.

also (this might be a little old but) Juliet?, also if you have a library close to you or a director that you know you can always ask them and look at plays with good girls parts. Also it depends upon what your auditioning for and usually its good to have 2 monologues that contrast (old and new, sad and funny... etc)
good luck
Reply:I have done some research on places on the internet where you can find monologues of all types, including teen monologues, monologues for girls, women, men, comical monologues, short comedic monologues, etc. I also answer a lot of questions about how to effectively memorize a monologue as well as about common mistakes that actors often make while performing a monologue for an audition. On this page on my site for new and aspiring actors, you will find all that information including links to the types of monologues you are looking for. http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/comic...

Best Agents?
So, just in general, who do you think are the best talent agents? (This can be for acting or modeling), I%26#039;m just wondering who you recommend. In my opinion, I think Elite/Ford are obviously great for modeling, as for acting agents in LA like Abrams Artists and Coast to Coast Talent. And JRP, Barbizon, John Casablancas are big no-no%26#039;s. What do you think?

Monologues with social/political undertones?
An equity theatre sent me an invitation to audition for their theatre, and it is coming up soon. While researching the theatre%26#039;s website it seems that the majority of their shows have a social and political context. I want to find a monologue that may have similar issues and will show off my abilities as a performer. I would enjoy a comedic monologue more, perhaps because it can be difficult to get worked up and dramatic in under 3 minutes (and a lot of performers and directors will recommend that you do not pick a piece that you will need to have too much emotion expressed in a short period of time), but whatever suggestions you can offer would be wonderful. I am a young woman who is looking for a monologue with an age range of 18-25 (looking more toward the 23-24 range but I can play younger and older as well). I have a ton of monologue books but nothing seems to fit a social or political context. I figured while I continued to research I would give Yahoo a try. Thanks!

You could do Hillary delivering Macbeth%26#039;s monologue as he debates the murder of his King.
You would need a prop to indicate that Barack and Hillary won the election. I think the material would transcend the age difference between you and Hillary. I think that people would enjoy the irony.

I have done some research on places on the internet where you can find monologues of all types, including teen monologues, monologues for girls, women, men, comical monologues, short comedic monologues, etc.
Good luck in your audition.

Best Shakespeare Character?
Your opinion of the best male and female characters ever written in a Shakespeare play.
Thank you =)
Best Shakespeare Character?
Lysander and Hermia from %26quot;A Midsummer Night%26#039;s Dream%26quot;
totally! After that Macbeth and Lady Macbeth
Best Shakespeare Character?
umm
probably Hermia and Lysander, Puck, Bottom (from A Midsummer Nights Dream)
Romeo and Juliet.
Macbeth.
Reply:My favorite is Iago, the must cunning and evil character in the plays. Mercutio is a close second.
And I think that Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing is probably my favorite. However, I admit that the movie had a lot to do with that,
Reply:well i would say ethier Hermina or Lady Macbeth and Puck or Lysander
Reply:My favorite female character, for sheer spunkiness, is Beatrice, Much Ado About Nothing.
My favorite male character. That%26#039;s a toughie. Puck isn%26#039;t necessarily male, could be done either way, but he%26#039;s definitely up there if done by a male. Otherwise I%26#039;m a big Iago fan just because of how evil that buggar is!
Thank you =)

How can I find a producer for my one woman show?
I%26#039;m looking for a producer for my one woman show in LA. ANybody knows what%26#039;s the best way to go about finding one?
How can I find a producer for my one woman show?
Produce it yourself, that way you won%26#039;t have to worry about whether or not, the production is up to your standards.
It will save you a big headache. No one will see the production the same as you, just save yourself a headache or two.

if its a one woman show then surely you should do it yourself?

Are there such people that teach people other accents?
If so, what kind of teacher are they and how can i find one.
I need to be taught a scottish, irish, and british accent for acting.
Are there such people that teach people other accents?
well there are speach patholigists but those are usually for people with speech impediments but my mom%26#039;s friend is one and she teachers accents to the people at our community theatre

The 25 %26quot;patterns%26quot; in the %26quot;Acting with an Accent%26quot; series include the three you%26#039;re looking for.
Reply:you need to find a good dialect coach. these are the people who professionally teach dialect to actors and singers. you can also take the less-expensive routes and just listen to a ton of different people speaking in the dialects you are attempting to learn- this was how i acquired my british one and it worked fine- while i was in england, a gent asked to hear it and thought i was pretty good. this isn%26#039;t a flawless method and requires a good ear for language nuances, but it is something you can learn to listen for.

How much should I save up before I move to Los Angeles to pursue my acting career?
I don%26#039;t plan on moving out there to 2-3 so I can finish up film school and build my resume up. I will know people who would already be living there so I can find a room with some others. I have a car thats reliable which I probably sell or trade-in. I%26#039;m just trying to be prepare early. I probably have $20,000 of student loans to pay off?
How much should I save up before I move to Los Angeles to pursue my acting career?
It%26#039;s difficult to say exactly, but if you have enough money to last you for a year or so, that could be a good start.
I would also say that aside from your training, make sure you know as much about the business in LA as you can.
Have a look at this page on my site for new and aspiring actors. It%26#039;s an interview I did with Hollywood acting coach named Bernard Hiller. He talks about preparing for your trip to LA.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

How much should I save up before I move to Los Angeles to pursue my acting career?
Ideally, you want to get all your loans paid off before you go. I would say that it would be good to go with at least $10,000. That should do you for a couple months. Remember though, once you get out there you may want to get new headshots with a LA photographer and you%26#039;ll also want to get into some classes asap. Networking is important. If you%26#039;re at the point of looking for an agent, you%26#039;ll also need to do a mailing, which will cost hundreds of dollars in postage and materials. So, yes, you need to plan.
Also, don%26#039;t sell your car. Public transport in LA is not that great, you%26#039;ll need your car.
There are many books out there devoted to %26quot;making it LA%26quot;, which also cover considerations and preparations for the move. Check out your bookstore, library or Amazon.
Good lucK!

Are there any public places in NYC where I can watch the 2008 Tony Awards? Restaurants? Bars? Open parties?
I don%26#039;t get good TV reception at my apartment. My parents will be in town this coming weekend, and we%26#039;d like to watch the Tony Awards together this year -- preferably over a drink or food.
Anyone know any spots that are hosting open Tony-watching parties in the city?

Did anyone see La Rondine at the Los Angeles Opera ?
Yes , in fact from the stage !
Did anyone see La Rondine at the Los Angeles Opera ?
Yes , I saw it too , the spectacular Los Angeles Opera at its best
Did anyone see La Rondine at the Los Angeles Opera ?
I saw it Saturday night. The staging was wonderful. There was applaud for the stage at each act. The main characters (Magda and Ruggiero) were not that great. Lisette was phenomenal. Prunier and Rambaldo also sang their roles well. The recording I own has Domingo and Te Kanawa singing the main roles, so I don%26#039;t know how fair it is to compare Saturday night%26#039;s singers to them. I%26#039;m a Puccini fan and own recordings of all of his operas. I have seen most of them live more than once. This was not the best La Rondine.

Video Game voice acting?
High aspirations, I know, but I have always wanted to be a voice actor for animated movies or video games. I have (at least in my opinion) a fairly decent speaking voice, and have many years of music theater experience. I was just wondering if anyone knew how I would go about doing something like that? I live in southern California. Any info would be incredibly helpful...
Actress/ college student?
Is there anyone else here who auditions on a daily basis while in college. Especially in LA. Im moving to a college in LA so I can learn skills for a career while pursuing my dream. I just wonder, when are your classes, auditions, job and how do you manage to fit it in.
I'm looking for some sound effects...?
Some really good, really realistic sound effects to fit the horror/drama genre? Doing my own kind of Twilight Zone, looking for sound effects to fit specific scenes/emotions.
One scene is zooming in on a kind of monster%26#039;s face. I%26#039;m looking for a shock/surprised sound, by the way, it%26#039;s the ending, so I want it to fade out right after that with the sound slowly quieting. (Though, I can do the quieting part by my self)

What does script mean?
A script is your written text of the play.
What does script mean?
It%26#039;s the whole play on paper commonly used for rehearsal.
It has character lines on there and the emotions that are supposed to be portrayed.
What does script mean?
Your script is one of your most important assets in play-production.
It has:
- Dialogue
- Important blocking (blocking that is pertinent to performance, that is-- blocking that makes no difference is made according to how the director and actor in question see fit).
- Miscellaneous Prop Notes
- Costume Notes
- Setting Notes
And a host of other properties that make a %26quot;play%26quot;, a %26quot;PLAY!%26quot;
If you%26#039;re performing a musical, your script should come with a libretto either attached inside or somewhere outside of the script.
I hope that this has helped!!

What are some good acting schools in Texas?
Im 16 and have been acting in High School and working on performances around my town. I just recently got into a three week class at the Alley Theatre for July. I have been thinking more and more about majoring in Theatre when I go to college and minoring in English instead of the other way around. So I was wondering if anyone knew of any Theatre college or classes in the Houston area for classes or Texas area for colleges. If you do please tell me. That would be great!
Thanks!
Jessica
